for ROOT to work with lesstif you have to make the following link:
ln -s libXm.so.0.75a libXm.so.2
also don't forget to set:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ROOTSYS/lib:/usr/local/lib

PS: we just discovered that the context sensitive popup menu's don't
work properly in lesstiff. The menu's pop up but no menu items
can be selected. The lesstif test programs show the same behaviour.
