Hello list,
I am begging a pardon providing some "off-topic" information.

The problem was out of CERN. The "suitable" version of the Digital
Visual Fortran was released just a few weeks ago
( see http://www.digital.com/fortran/dvf-update.html )

I did (pardon CERNLIB office did) this just yesterday. If fact to
be in time with CERNLIB for Windows I left ROOT team and has been
working with CERNLIB for the last three months.

(One can find it on ASIS and on NICE as well). But it is with
Digital Visual Fortran nowadays (since only Digital Visual Fortran is
compatible with MSVC v.5.0).

Anyway I think the next release of ROOT could be done with MSVC
v.5.0.

With my best regards,
Valery
