No I think you haven't.

May be it would be better to generate a temporary Histogram object
(via copy ctor) "on fly" respecting some "C++" condition for
each chanells/axis etc.

Something like this:

TH1 o = oldHistogram["C++ bool expr for X axis",
"C++ bool expr for Y-axis",
"C++ bool expr for Z-axis",
etc];
o.Draw();
