User Registration †

To participate in the LEPS experiment (taking shift, working on detectors in the experimental hall,...etc), you must have a SPring-8 ID number AND you must be registered as a radiological worker at SPring-8.

ID number †

1. Visit SPring-8 User Information page.
2. Go to "User Registration" --> "Add" menu (a green menu bar is located at the top of the page) and follow the instruction on the page.
3. When you get your ID number, please tell us (bl33lep@rcnp.osaka-u.ac.jp).

Rad worker (After you get your ID number) †

1. Fill the form F05-1 (English) or 様式5-1 (Japanese). In the form, it must be certified that you are an authorized rad worker at your home institute and allowed to work at SPring-8 by signatures of the division head AND the head of the personal management of your home institute.
2. In the form 05-1, the following column MUST BE FILLED. Otherwise the user office does not accept the form.
   1. Date of Medical Examination for Radiation Worker
   2. Date of Radiation Safety Training (at your home institute)
3. Fax it to the SPring-8 Users Office AT LEAST 3 BUSINESS DAYS prior to your arrival. Fax number: +81 791-58-0965
4. Bring THE ORIGINAL COPY on your arrival.
5. The rad worker registration is valid through the end of Japanese fiscal year (March 31).
6. From Apr.1, 2008, the above rules are STRICTLY applied. If you have any problems or questions, please contact us well before your arrival.

You can use a LAN port in your room. SPring-8 ID and password are required.

At the BL33LEP beamline and the D1 LEPS office †

Network (wired) at BL33LEP beamline and D1 LEPS office is a part of RCNP network and independent from SPring-8 network. You need to register your PC at https://www.rcnp.osaka-u.ac.jp/usrmanage/ . Your IP address is provided by the DHCP server. There are two printers leppr02 (at beamline) and leppr01 (at D1 office) to which we can directly print from miho (main unix server at RCNP). Wireless LAN service is also provided by SPring-8 at the experimental hall but it can be used for very limited purpose (WWW browsing, send/receive e-mails,...etc) due to security reasons.

Usage of Stock Room †

You need a special card to buy(! not free anymore) something at the stock rooms. The A and C stock rooms can be used with the card. Our LEPS group has 2 cards. One is in the D1 room (on white bord) and the other is in the LEPS office of the users building (near my desk). Here is a temporary rule.

1. For staff members, use the card anytime. At the first time, let me know. I will tell you how to use the card.
2. For students, do not use it without asking someone staff members.
3. DO NOT keep it yourself.
4. RETURN the card as soon as possible after you finish shopping.
