The Support Office for International Students and Scholars

The Support Office for International Students and Scholars was established in October 2007 as part of the International Student Affairs Division, in the Department of International Affairs, to assist international students and scholars with their requirements as foreigners in Japan.

In 2009, Osaka University was selected as one of the core universities for the Global 30 internationalization program (G30), as run and promoted by Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. The Support Office has been reorganized in light of Osaka University's new role as part of the G30, with staff levels also increased to cope with the expansion of new supporting contents.

The Support Office offers assistance to international students and scholars on visa procedures, accommodation, and other required information prior to their arrival in Japan.

The primary goal of the Support Office is to help make the life of our international students and scholars easier and more comfortable, so that they can concentrate fully on their academic activities throughout the duration of their stay in Japan.
