On the shift from SX-4 to SX-5

Guide to the reinstallation from SX-4 to SX-5

Please notice the following in connection with up-coming move from SX-4 to SX-5.

Additional information can be obtained by visiting the web-page of Cybermedia Center. You will be asked to identify yourself by user-id and password.

• Floating number mode
  Only float0 (IEEE) is supported.
• FORTRAN compiler
  f77, f77sx will be no more available. Please transfer your jobs to FORTRAN90 before the change to SX-5, and verify your software. Additional information is given by Cybermedia Center on its pages (unfortunately, at present only in Japanese).

  • Here you can download several documents related to installation of SX-5. (mostly Japanese, OS mannual is in English (but little old) ).
  • Comprehensive mannual on FORTRAN90/SX (Japanese)
• Library
  Some libraries are no more supported, others are changed to updated version.
  For example, MATLIB is abandoned, ASL is updated.
  On ASL , "Information of the shift" (pdf format) is available here (only in Japanese)
• Analyser
  The tool is changed from ANALYZER-P to PSUITE
  On PSUITE, introductory documents (Japanese, pdf format) are avalable here.
• Applications
  Most of the installed applications are changed.
  References are here, or information is available here (both in Japanese).
• Other machines going out of service
  up02, Indy (Acolor), ccindigo01, GigaRouter
• Stopped services
  For example, backup of SX local files.
• Change of job-queue
  Queue setting will be announced later.

Training course

A training course on the shft from SX-4 to SX-5 will be given in afternoon of 4th (Mon) and 5th (Tue) December 2000, 13:30- at Cybermedia Center, Osaka University. Choose one day according on your convenience. The program will be the same. In particular those who feel uneasy about the programming on SX-5, or FORTRAN90 in general are welcome.
