Network in the RCNP the guest house

1. Wireless LAN of the guest house can be used as follows.

1-1. There are 3 kinds of networks as follows. Choose one of the following four SSIDs.

SSIDPurpose
RCNP-GPThe general purpose network of RCNP.
It is the same network as RCNP-GP of the other place in RCNP.
The MAC address of the connected PC is required to be registered.
RCNP-VISITORThe visitor network of RCNP.
It is the same network as RCNP-VISITOR of the other place in RCNP.
The MAC address of the connected PC is required to be registered by RCNP staff.
Please consult to RCNP staff to register your PC.
eduroamThe world wide eduroam service.
The eduroam account is necessary for use which is issued by your affiliation.

1-2. The wireless LAN is available in the whole area of the guest house except for the roof and the garden.

1-3. You can use IEEE 802.11a, g, b for all SSIDs above. If you have a bad reception of the radio wave, it might be improved by moving or turning your PC slightly.

2. Cable LAN of the the guest house can be used as follows.

2-1. There is one network socket available in a single-bedded room. There are two network sockets available in twin-bedded rooms and the Japanese-style room.

2-2. If your PC is registered to the RCNP-GP network, just connect it to network socket. Your PC will be connected to the RCNP-GP network and work as same as other places of RCNP.

2-3. The UTP cables are available in your room. You do not have to pull the UTP cable out of the network socket after use. Please do not take out the UTP cable from your room.

2-4. Only one terminal can be connected to one network socket. Don't use network hub to connect more than one terminal.

2-5. The transmission rate is 10/100Mbps (auto sense).

2-6. You cannot use the network socket in the lobby.

3. Other notices

3-1. You can use the printer which placed at the 1F robby, only from the network which SSID is RCNP-GP, RCNP-VISITOR or eduroam. You cannot use this printer from other SSIDs. Please refer to the notice paper near the printer.

3-2. There is no lending service of PCs. There is no PC for common use in the the guest house.

3-3. If you have questions or problems, please contact RCNP network consultants via mail at consult@rcnp.osaka-u.ac.jp. Please do NOT ask the maintenance staff about using networks.

宿舎でのネットワークの利用について

1. 宿舎の無線LANが以下のように使用できます。

1-1. 宿舎の無線LANには以下の3つの種類があります。 利用する下記のSSIDを選択して使用して下さい。

RCNP-GP RCNPの汎用ネットワークです。
本館や実験室のRCNP-GPと同じものですので、既に登録した端末はそのまま利用できます。
RCNP-VISITORRCNPのビジター用ネットワークです。
RCNPのスタッフによる登録が必要です。
登録は、RCNPのスタッフにご相談下さい。
eduroam世界中で利用可能なeduroamが利用できます。
利用には各自の所属組織で発行されたeduroamアカウントが 必要です。
大阪大学個人IDでも登録をすれば利用できます。

1-2．無線LANのエリアは宿舎の全域です。但し、屋上と屋外は除きます。

1-3．電波の種類は、全てのSSIDについて、
11a, 11b, 11gの３種類が利用できます。 場所により電波が弱い場合があります。 その時は、PCの場所や向きを変えると改善する場合があります。

2．宿舎の有線ＬＡＮが以下のように利用できます。

2-1．各宿泊室に宿泊定員数の情報コンセントが設置されています。 シングルルームには1個、ツインルームには2個、和室には 2個の情報コンセントがあります。

2-2．利用できるネットワークは、RCNP-GP です。 本館や実験室等にある RCNP-GP の有線ネットワークと同じものですので、 登録をしてある端末はそのまま利用できます。

2-3．室内には情報コンセントの数のUTPケーブルが常備されています。 PC等を接続してご利用下さい。使用後に、UTPケーブルを情報 コンセントから抜く必要はありません。また、UTPケーブルは 室外に持ち出さないで下さい。

2-4．1つの情報コンセントに接続できる端末は1台だけです。 ハブを接続して複数の端末を接続する事はできません。

2-5．通信速度は10/100Mbpsの自動切換えです。

2-6．ロビーにも情報コンセントはありますが、利用できません。

3．その他

3-1．宿舎の１階ロビーにあるプリンタが利用できます。 利用できるＳＳＩＤは、RCNP-GP, RCNP-VISITOR, eduroam です。 他のＳＳＩＤからは使えません。 利用にあたってはプリンタのそばに掲示している情報を見て下さい。

3-2．PCの貸し出しサービスはありませんので、各自でご持参下さい。 また、共用端末も宿舎にはありません。

3-2．何か問題や相談がありましたら、consult@rcnp.osaka-u.ac.jp までお願いします。宿舎の管理人さんにはネットワークについての相談は しないで下さい。
