Tools

Password generator

• Generates a random passwords in Togawa‘s favorite format.
• Format is AaaN-AaaN-AaaN.
• To prevent confusion won‘t use any of the same character twice.
• Won't use characters that can be confused with others. (0, O, l, I)
• If you are not pleased with the password you can generate as many as you want by clicking the button.

  • Added user setting $accessMode. Changes whether to use php or apache to load images. At RCNP this should be set to suphp.
  • Changing between "All Files" and "Only Pictures" in JPG mode should be more consistent.
  • Fixed bug where directories with Japanese characters in their names wouldn't show up properly.

    • At RCNP suPHP is used, because of this php scripts are run with the users account.
      Since the user's account is used PHP can read all files within the scripts folder.(denying access from .htaccess won't work)
      If you don't want to display some files or folders please include them in the $privateFiles and $privateFolders arrays that can be found inside the "USER SETTINGS" section of the php file.

• PDFs generated with Quartz PDFContext on Mac OS X have compatibility problem with Ghostscript used on our servers. Thumbnail generation is disabled for these files, when this occurs error will be displayed.

Information

• When placed in web directory (eg HTMLpub or its sub directories) generates simple view of the files.
• Shows files in clear list, grid that allow easy access or in picture viewing mode. This can be changed from the right upper corner of the page
• File listing is usually prohibited on big web servers and creating web-site just for sharing the files can be troublesome.
• This script's purpose is to make sharing files easier.
• Simply create a folder with the files you want to share and place this script in the same folder.
• Creates thumbnails for pictures and documents to help accessing files.
• Currently supported file formats for thumbnails are following.
• .pdf, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .txt and .log.
• By default only shows the files in the same folder. Won't show any sub directories or files inside them.
• To allow access to sub directories and their files a parameter in start of the index.php can be changed. When using this feature please be careful, because you might also give access to files you don't wish to show.

$allowedDepth=3;

The default value is 0.

For example by changing the value to 3 you will be able to access ./<script folder>/<folder>/<folder>/<folder>/cat.jpg

• The script also checks for htaccess files in sub directories.

If there are no ./.htaccess files

• All allowed folders and their contents will be displayed until $allowedDepth is reached.

If ./.htaccess is found in sub folder but it doesn't match the one in script directory or it's missing from the script folder, and there is no index.php in the sub folder.

• Folder won't be shown
• The script also hides certain types of files by default.

If you want to change this behavior you can edit $privateFiles parameters in user settings found in the start of the script.

Hidden file types are following.

• .php, html and files ending with ~

How to use

• How to use on RCNP's web server
• Decide which folder you wish to publish
• Copy the script following steps below.

      cd <Folder you wish to publish>
      cp ~www-cn/HTMLpub/tools/FileViewer/FileViewer.php index.php
  

• Put all the files you wish to publish in the folder.
• Try accessing the site.

• The script must be placed inside HTMLpub or its subdirectories.

• How to use it elsewhere
• Download both the php script and other necessary files from here. (Current version is 0.46)
• Icons and fonts should be placed in ".icons" folder in the same folder as the scripts."
• Notes
• Automatically generates thumbnails for the pictures and stores them inside a folder. Remember to give the script write access to ".thumbs" folder. If the scripts doesn't have access rights the thumbnails won't be shown.

Log to Excel

• Imports firewall logs to a formatted excel sheet.
• By placing the firewall logs to A1-AX cells and running the macro included in the excel sheet, the macro imports the logs to a new sheet that is neatly formatted.
• The log must start from A1
• If the macro finds unsupported parameters during the import, it will provide a list of unknown parameters in the end.
• Unsupported parameters won't be included in output.
• Additional (unsupported) parameters can be added by editing the types array.
