eduroam CAT (Configuration Assistant Tool) for RCNP CN Account Holders
RCNPのCNアカウントを持っている人は、eduroamの設定を自動的かつ安全に行えるツール「eduroam CAT (Configuration Assistant Tool)」を利用できます。
eduroam CATの公式サイト（https://cat.eduroam.org/）から、各端末に合わせた設定プログラムをダウンロードできます。
このツールは、主要なOS（Windows、macOS、iOS、Android、ChromeOSなど）に対応しています。
eduroam CATを使用すると、設定作業が簡単になるだけでなく、安全に接続するためのセキュリティ設定（サーバー証明書の確認など）も自動的に行ってくれます。OSを問わず、安全のためにeduroam CATを使って設定することをお勧めします。
【セキュリティに関する警告】
eduroam CATを使って設定した際に、「偽のアクセスポイントに接続されている可能性」を示すメッセージや証明書のエラーなどが出た場合は、絶対に接続しないでください。偽のアクセスポイントを置いてユーザー名とパスワードを盗み出し、大学のネットワークへ不正アクセスをする事件がすでに起きています。十分に注意してください。
利用方法は以下の通りです。
- 公式サイト https://cat.eduroam.org/ にアクセスします。
- 「Click here to download your eduroamR installer」というボタンをクリックします。
- 機関の一覧が表示されるので、「Research Center for Nuclear Physics (RCNP)」を選びます。
- 使っている機器のOSが自動で判断され、適切なダウンロードボタンが表示されます。
- ボタンをクリックしてダウンロードします。その際、画面に表示されるメッセージをよく読んでください。
- Windows: ダウンロードしたプログラム（.exe）を実行してください。
- Android: 事前にGoogle Playストアから「eduroamCAT」アプリを入れておいてください。
- iOS (iPhone): ダウンロードしたあと、「設定」アプリを開いて操作する必要があります。
- iPad: OSの自動判断がうまくいかないことがあります。その時は、ダウンロードボタンの下にある「Choose another installer to download」をクリックし、一覧から「Apple iOS mobile device」を選んでください。
- その他のOS: 画面の指示に従って試してみてください。
- インストールの途中で、eduroam用のユーザー名とパスワードの入力を求められます。
- ここには、RCNP CNアカウントの情報を入力してください。
- RCNPのアカウントを持っている人だけが、このツール（RCNP版 eduroam CAT）を利用できます。
- ユーザー名は必ず
USERNAME@rcnp.osaka-u.ac.jp の形式（@以降も含める）にしてください。
- ダウンロードしたプログラムは、RCNPのアカウントを持っていない人には絶対に渡さないでください。
- これは eduroam CAT の利用規程（Terms of use）で決められています。必ず守ってください。
- ※RCNPアカウントを持っている人同士であれば、USBメモリ等で他のPCにコピーして使っても構いません（Windowsでは確認済みです。他のOSでもおそらく可能です）。

By configuring your device with the eduroam CAT, it will warn you if it detects a potential "fake access point." If you ever see such a warning message or a certificate error, do not proceed with the connection. There have been incidents where malicious actors set up fake access points to steal usernames and passwords for unauthorized access to university networks. Please remain highly vigilant.
To configure your connection using eduroam CAT, follow the instructions below:
- Visit https://cat.eduroam.org/.
- Click the button that says "Click here to download your eduroamR installer".
- Select "Research Center for Nuclear Physics (RCNP)" from the list of institutions.
- The system will detect your OS and display the appropriate download button.
- Click the button to download the installer, and carefully read any displayed messages.
- Windows: Run the downloaded program.
- Android: Please install the "eduroamCAT" application from the Google Play Store beforehand.
- iOS (iPhone): After downloading, open the "Settings" app to complete the profile installation.
- iPad: The OS auto-detection might fail. In that case, click "Choose another installer to download" and select "Apple iOS mobile device" from the list.
- Other OS: Follow the on-screen instructions.
- During the installation, you will be prompted to enter your eduroam username and password.
- Please use your RCNP CN account credentials.
- Only users with an active RCNP account are authorized to use this specific RCNP eduroam CAT.
- Your username must be entered in the full format:
USERNAME@rcnp.osaka-u.ac.jp.
- Do not distribute the downloaded installer to anyone who does not hold an RCNP account.
- Sharing the installer is strictly restricted by the GEANT "Terms of use" on the eduroam CAT website. Please adhere strictly to this rule.
- * Note: Sharing the installer via a USB drive between active RCNP account holders is permitted (confirmed to work on Windows and should work on other operating systems).
