■The Radioactive Beam Program at the ATLAS accelerator at Argonne

   Abstract:
The ATLAS accelerator at Argonne National Laboratory is the world's first
superconducting linear accelerator for heavy ions. In addition to stable
beams a program for the production of radioactive beams was initiated
about 15 years ago. I will give a brief description of the techniques used to
produce beams of short-lived nuclei and then present the results from three
recent experiments using 8B, 12B and 16N beams, all of which have a connection
    to experiments performed in Japan.
