- RCNP Seminar - Dr. John Schiffer (Argonne National Laboratory, USA) ■Nuclear Structure and Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay -- Part I Abstract: The possibility that neutrinoless double beta decay may be observed in the next decade sets the task for nuclear physicists to try to remove some of the large ambiguities in nuclear matrix elements for this process. So far the problem has been seen as one for nuclear theory -- but it also poses a challenge for experiments to constrain the answer. Results from the first phase of experiments aimed at this question will be discussed in the context of 76Ge. |
