An international workshop on the “Physics
Opportunities using CAGRA and RCNP tracking Ge
detector” (CAGRA17) will be held at Osaka University from October 10th to
12th, 2017. At RCNP, CAGRA project is on-going
where a Compton-suppressed Ge Clover array of 16
detectors setup is constructed by utilizing the Clover detectors in Japan, the
U.S., and China based on the international collaboration. So far CAGRA
campaign experiments by combining the CAGRA array with the low-energy RI beam
line, EN course, and the high-resolution spectrometer, Grand Raiden, were successfully performed. It is also planned
to use the CAGRA array at RIBF in order to study excited states of exotic nulclei. In addition, a development of a segmented HPGe detector with the tracking capability has been
initiated at RCNP. It will be utilized for the gamma-ray spectroscopy
experiments. In this workshop, experimental plans at RIBF and
RCNP as well as summary and progress of CAGRA campaign experiments will be
discussed. We hope that the workshop will provide a stimulating environment
to discuss new ideas and to further enhance the international collaboration
in the field of nuclear-structure studies. The workshop will start in the morning of Oct. 10
and end in the afternoon of Oct. 12. It will be held at the Σ Hall, Engineering Science International Building, Toyonaka Campus, Osaka
University. There will be invited talks as well as presentations
selected from submitted contributions. Detailed information about the
symposium will be provided in the next announcement. Updates and latest news
will be available at the symposium web site, http://www.rcnp.osaka-u.ac.jp/indico/event/1092/
