Course Modules

Students enrolled in this program must complete 10.5+ credits in the following courses.

Compulsory Courses

Quantum Beam Domestic Internship (2 credits)
This program broadens students' perspectives and develops highly competent communication skills through discussions and collaborative work by participating in joint research for 28 days or more. The training location is a domestic research institute (including research facilities belonging to Osaka University or a private corporation) in a field outside their specialized academic subject. It is desirable to choose an internship location from the viewpoint of broadening students' perspective.
Quantum Beam Overseas Internship (2 credits)
This program broadens students' perspectives and develops highly competent communication skills through discussions and collaborative work by participating in joint research for 28 days or more in an overseas partner institution. Students build their network while enhancing their research abilities. It is desirable to choose an internship location from the viewpoint of enhancing students' research experience.
Quantum Beam Interdisciplinary Exchange 1-3 (1.5 credits)
  • Students participate in the annual Quantum Beam Application Symposium hosted by the program.
  • Students must present at least once a year at an international conference, including the Quantum Beam Application Symposium. Students must receive guidance about which international conferences to participate in with their academic advisor.
  • Planning and operating an independent workshop may be substituted for a presentation at an international conference because students gain experience in interdisciplinary collaborative co-creation.

Compulsory Elective Courses

Courses for broad perspective/social implementation training (1 credit)

Some courses are shared with "Honors Program for Graduate Schools in Science, Engineering and Informatics", Institute for Nanoscience Design, and WISE Program "Transdisciplinary Program for Biomedical Entrepreneurship and Innovation".

Quantum beam application courses (4 credits)

Students select at least two courses from one of the following groups: 1) Quantum beam informatics courses, 2) Quantum beam medical courses, 3) Quantum beam application courses, 4) Quantum beam physics application courses, 5) Quantum beam chemistry courses, and 6) Quantum beam functional molecule creation courses, 7) Quantum beam Macromolecular Science Courses, 8) Comprehensive Quantum Beam Fundamentals Courses

Some courses are shared with "Honors Program for Graduate Schools in Science, Engineering and Informatics" and "Interactive Materials Science Cadet Program".
