Title: Radio Therapy
Abstract:
I will talk about Radio Therapy. Radiation can kill cells by damaging genes in the cells.
Of course, the same can be said for normal cells, but unlike cancer cells, normal cells have the ability to repair themselves, and it is known that radiation has a smaller effect on normal cells.
Radiotherapy takes advantage of this difference between cancer cells and normal cells.
In this seminar, we will present how radiation therapy is used in cancer treatment and the environment of cancer cells in vivo.

Title: Measurement of the gamma-decay probability of the 3-1 state in 12C with deuteron inelastic scattering
Abstract:
The triple-alpha (3α) reaction, which synthesizes 12C from three α particles, is one of the most critical reactions in cosmic nucleosynthesis. The gamma-decay probabilities of the 3α resonance states are essential physical quantities that govern the 12C production rate. At high temperatures, above 10^9 K, higher-lying excited states in 12C play a significant role. This study aims to precisely determine the gamma-decay probability of the 3-1 state by simultaneously measuring both the scattered 12C and the recoil deuteron emitted from inelastic deuteron scattering, conducted under inverse kinematics conditions.
