Department of Macromolecular Science

My name is Qian Yunpeng, a student majoring in Supramolecular Science. I am passionate about exploring the fascinating world of molecules, mainly cyclodextrins, and their intricate interactions. Aside from my academic pursuits, I am interested in traveling in my free time. I find great joy in immersing myself in diverse environments, witnessing the beauty of different landscapes, and experiencing the rich tapestry of global traditions.

About my research, I am know focusing on designing a new kind of adhesive based on movable cross-network polymers. The adhesion of dissimilar materials continues to be an important issue because of the difficulties to adhere between different materials with different chemical properties and linear expansion coefficients. Though there are several dissimilar material adhesives have been reported, it is challenging to achieve the one with improved toughness and mechanical properties. In our previous research, it was founded that single movable cross-network (SC) elastomers, which were formed through bulk copolymerization of alkyl acrylates and cyclodextrins (CDs) host monomers, exhibited good toughness and self-restoring properties. Therefore, I try to use this unique structure in developing a new supramolecular adhesion system, which could provide high toughness and long-life property.
