In order to control metastatic cancer, we are developing novel therapeutic strategies utilizing anticancer immunity which is enhanced with the combination of radiotherapy and ICI; immune checkpoint inhibitor (Novel Prize in Physiology and Medicine 2018). So far, we revealed that the higher radiation dose got, the stronger anticancer immunity is activated (Takenaka W et al. Cancers 2020). From now on, we would like to investigate the method for optimal dosing of radiation in advance of combination therapies of ICI with radiation.
