In recent years, with the growing attention to Society 5.0, it has become increasingly important to collect and use large amounts of useful information from the physical world. Therefore, sensors that play this role are becoming increasingly important.
In my research, I am designing a wireless sensing system for monitoring plant stress to contribute to the development of smart agriculture. As an indicator of plant stress, I focus on pH inside plants. By using wireless power transfer and backscatter communication, I am developing small and lightweight sensor tags that can be attached to plants to minimize the burden on them. I am also developing a custom reader board that supplies power to and communicates with these sensor tags. My goal is to develop a system that can operate for a long time in actual agricultural fields. Furthermore, I aim to collect other types of physiological information in addition to pH and analyze them together to develop a system that can identify the causes of various types of plant stress and suggest appropriate countermeasures.
