Access from overseas

When you access RCNP from overseas, there are mainly four options. If this is the first time travel to Japan, we recomend the simple way Route1 and Route2 by airplane. Please open the Airplane tab for details.

      Kansai International Airport (KIX) is the closest international airport to RCNP.

      Direction from KIX to RCNP.
      • Take a limousine bus bound for Osaka Airport (also known as Itami airport) leaving from the No.8 bus stop of the terminal 1 or No. 2 bus stop of the terminal 2. Get off at Osaka Airport (about 1h30min, 2,000 JPY).
        Ticket is available at a vending machine near the bus stop. [ Link to the TIMETABLE ]
      • From Osaka Airport, take the Osaka Monorail bound for "Kadoma-shi".
      • Change at "Bampaku-kinen-koen" station and take another monorail bound for "Saito-nishi" of Saito branch.
      • Get off at "Handai-byoin-mae" (about 30 minutes, 400 JPY).
      • From "Handai-byoin-mae", RCNP is about 10min walk. Please refer to THIS MAP .

      Osaka Airport (ITM) is the closest domestic airport to RCNP. You may fly to the ITM airpot through Haneda Airpot or Narita Airport in Tokyo. Although you need to take one more one-hour domestic flight to ITM, this option is sometimes better than Route1, since you can save the bus ride from KIX to ITM (about 1h30m).


      Direction from Osaka Airport(ITM) to RCNP.

      • Get on the monorail at the Osaka Airport bound for "Kadoma-shi". (Osaka Airpot is a terminal station, so that there is only one direction.)
      • Get off at "Bampaku-kinen-koen station" (about 18 min.).
      • Take the "Saito branch" of the monorail bound for "Saito-nishi".
      • Get off at "Handai-byoin-mae" station (about 5 min.).
        • "Handai" is an abriviation for Osaka University in Japanese.
        • "Byoin" and "Mae" are "hospital" and "in front of" in Japanese, respectively.
      • From "Handai-byoin-mae", RCNP is about 10min walk. Please refer to THIS MAP

      Kansai International Airport (KIX) is the closest international airport to RCNP.

      If you arrive at KIX from your country, it is strongly recommended to use limousine bus to ITM as Route1 unless you have any particular reasons.

      Route3 uses several different railways and sometimes you have to walk long distanse to transfer the train. Sometimes the trains go to different destinations. Visitors who are not familier with the Japanese railway stations, often get lost waisting lots of time.

      Direction1 from KIX to RCNP by trains.

      • Take JR Kansai-Airport Express "HARUKA" bound for "Kyoto".
      • Get off at the "Shin-Osaka" station.
      • Change to the "Midosuji Subway Line" bound for "Senri-Chuo."
      • Get off at "Senri-Chuo".
      • Get on at the Osaka Monorail bound for "Kadoma-shi".
      • Change at "Bampaku-kinen-koen" station and take another monorail bound for "Saito-nishi" of Saito branch.
      • Get off at "Handai-byoin-mae" (about 30 minutes, 400 JPY).

      • Take Nankai Rapi:t bound for the "Namba" station.
      • Get off at the "Namba" station.
      • Change to the "Midosuji Subway Line" bound for "Senri-Chuo."
        The Namba stations of the Nankai line and the subway are a little bit distant.
        Please make sure that your subway is bound for the "Senri-Chuo" station. Some subway does not go to the final station, "Senri-Chuo".
      • Get off at "Senri-Chuo".
      • Get on at the Osaka Monorail bound for "Kadoma-shi".
      • Change at "Bampaku-kinen-koen" station and take another monorail bound for "Saito-nishi" of Saito branch.
      • Get off at "Handai-byoin-mae" (about 30 minutes, 400 JPY).

  • From Osaka Airport to RCNP  

    • This section describes how to come to RCNP from Osaka airport.

    • Osaka Airport (also known as "Itami Airport", ITM) is a DOMESTIC airport (although its official name is Osaka International Airport !!). ITM is about 10 km east of RCNP and is the most convenient airport to come to RCNP. Please note that Kansai International Airport (KIX) is a different airport. If you arrive at KIX from your country, please take a limousine bus to

  • Railway Pass 

    • For the use of public transportation in Japan, electric money such as ICOCA is very convenient. With the card you can smoothly make connections with any major trains in the Kansai region without buying tickets each time.
    • ICOCA JR-West railway pass
      ICOCA is a contactless electric money mainly for train lines. ICOCA is operated by JR-west, but now can be used for almost all other railways as well as monorails and buses in Japan. Some shops and vending machines also accept the cards. The ICOCA cards can be purchased at ticket vending machines or ticket offices (Midori-no-madoguchi) of JR-West stations, including "JR Kansai International Airport station" and "JR Osaka station". It costs 2,000JPY, which includes initial charge of 1,500JPY plus 500JPY deposits. You can recharge the card at any JR-West station. The deposit can be refunded at the ticket offices of JR-West stations.

    • KANSAI ONE PASS
      is a cute version of ICOCA card for foreign visitors. You may receive discount services or special benefits at some sightseeing spots. You can purchase this card at Kasanai International airport and also at major railway stations. (Note that foreign visitors can also purchase normal ICOCA.)
